New Dates For Marvel Movies

With the on-going stay-at-home measure in place for handling the COVID-19 pandemic, major studios have been pushing back their many theatrical releases. No studio is more worried about this shutting down of theaters than Disney, considering their constant stream of Marvel Comics movies has become a constant at the cinema for over a decade. It’s highly unlikely Disney will take their most expensive investment and shuffle it off to VOD only. So their huge listing of future comic book movies is looking at new theatrical dates. Here’s a rundown.

Black Widow, the Avengers spin-off taking place between the events of Civil War and Infinity War, has been pushed back to November 6th from its summer release.

The Eternals, a new ensemble film, has shifted from its Fall release date to February 12th, 2021.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, an all-Asian hero film, is now set for a release of May 7th, 2021.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the sequel to 2016’s Doctor Strange featuring the magic-themed hero, is now going to debut in theaters on November 5th, 2021.

Thor: Love and Thunder, the fourth film with the Nordic myth figure, will now hit theaters February 18th, 2022.

Black Panther 2, the sequel to the 2018 blockbuster Black Panther, is now set for May 8th, 2022.

Finally, Captain Marvel 2, the sequel to 2019’s blockbuster Captain Marvel, will hit theaters on July 8th, 2022.

Of course, these all depend on when Marvel Studios can get back to work on these productions so hopefully, their new dates won’t have to be altered further.
